Starting Point/The Challenge
Our client are a Super League rugby club established almost 100 years ago. The popular club have historically faced challenges with bar queues, staff availability, and beer wastage so they contacted EBar to see how we could help.
EBar was tasked with:
- Significantly boosting bar sales
- Avoiding hurting sales at the club’s existing manned bar operation
- Reducing queues to speed up service and increase fan satisfaction
EBar’s Solution
EBar assessed the likely footfall (and demand for beer) in the stadium locations we were allocated. On the first Friday night Super League match, we deployed four mobile EBar units, all serving fan favourites Madrí Exceptional and Guinness.
On site were two of EBar’s experienced Ops team, who ran through our rigorous pre-event checks to ensure our units were connected to wi-fi (enabling contact payment and real time reporting on sales) and pouring perfect pints of Madrí and Guinness.
Our team also remained on duty to provide Challenge25 checks, change-over kegs and de-rig and remove the mobile EBars after the event.
Outcomes
- The mobile EBars served over 850 keg-fresh pints of Madrí Excepcional and Guinness over a 3 hour period
- EBar service rates peaked at 600 pints per hour.
- With EBars handling more of the peak demand for pints, the venue reported an overall increase of 10% in drink sales from its legacy bars
- Beer sales from the EBar units were 100% incremental for the venue, i.e. didn’t cannibalise sales that would have been expected via legacy bars
“We were really pleased that this major Super League club came to EBar to help with the performance of their bars operation. Fan feedback was 100% positive, and not only were the EBar sales 100% incremental, but the club also saw an uplift in sales at their regular bars. The shorter queues enabled by the presence of EBar units encouraged more fans to use the existing facilities, increasing sales and offering fans an even better F&B experience at the club”
